How can I get physiotherapy treatment if you cannot touch me?
All physiotherapy appointments involve a “subjective assessment”, which involves the physiotherapist asking lots of questions which allows us to really understand the problem you are seeking help with. After the subjective assessment, the physiotherapist has formed a diagnosis which would be confirmed with doing some further assessment. Online this assessment could be watching the person move the affected area, or complete a bladder diary. A large portion of women’s health physiotherapy is providing education about the condition, exercise prescription, modification of diet, fluids and exercise. If a person requires a normal physiotherapy appointment where they attend a clinic in person, the online specialist will recommend it and provide a referral to a preferred provider, who we know has the skills to treat the condition.
Can I claim online consultation appointments back through my health insurance provider?
It is recommended that you check with your insurance provider prior to commencing the consultation. We will provide you with a receipt that contains the physiotherapist’s name and provider number along with date and the service provided. You may then be able to submit a form to request reimbursement from your insurance provider.
